Oxonia Active

Oxonia Active serves as an efficient, superior performance disinfectant

Oxonia Active is a fact acting acidic liquid sanitizer manufactured by Ecolab. It has been designed with a stabilized amalgamation of Hydrogen peroxide and Peracetic acid. Oxonia Active serves as an efficient, superior performance disinfectant that has been formulated for the purpose of disinfecting the surfaces that comes in contact with consumables involved in the food and beverage industries during their operation. The contact time for this compound relies upon other factors as well such as concentration, temperature, and types of microbial families that have been targeted.

Oxonia Active is more efficient in its activity at an acidic to neutral pH. It is safe to be used with metals such as stainless steel, aluminum and tinned steel. It is a non-foaming formulation that aids in reducing CIP cycle time and improves CIP efficiency. And as it is a low phosphorus formulation it alleviates phosphate-related effluent fees. It displays compatibility with most of the plastic materials, rubber, generally used in the processing operations. Oxonia Active solutions can be stored and reused if they are within the recommended concentration range. To assure that the solutions remain active while reusing it, addition of the concentrate will be necessary.

Oxonia Active reveals as a peroxyacetic acid formulation exhibiting antimicrobial properties designed to be used in a number of sanitizing applications in the dairy, beverage and food processing industries as well as for sterilization of aseptic processing and packaging equipment. It consists of hydrogen peroxide of CAS No. 7722-84-1 at 27.5 % by weight, acetic acid with CAS No. 64-19-7 at 8% by weight and peroxyacetic acid with CAS No. 79-21-0 at 5.8 % by weight. It appears to be a clear, colorless liquid having a pungent odor. It has a pH of 2.5 and exhibits specific gravity of about 1.120. It is recommended to be used on pre-cleaned surfaces such as pipelines, tanks, equipments, fillers, evaporators, and aseptic equipments in breweries, beverage, dairies, wineries, and other food processing plants.
