30 years of Unparalleled Performance in RO Plant with Nalco PermaTreat PC191 – ChemEqual

RO Plant operation and PermaTreat PC 191 have been synonymous names with Nalco PermaTreat proving to be the best antiscalant chemical and antifoulant for membrane systems working with a wide selection of brackish, high salinity, process and effluent feed-waters.

NALCO PC 191 was first introduced and used as a RO antiscalant chemical in 1980. Since then it has become the preferred method for scale control in installations throughout the world. It is recommended by most of the world’s leading RO manufacturers and considered a highly cost effective scale inhibitor and antifoulant.

PermaTreat PC 191 with its unique antiscalant chemical formula greatly reduces scaling risks as well as use of hazardous acids for cleaning, regulates optimum RO plant process and conversion rates and is invariably cheaper alternative for membrane protection by pH control or ion-exchange softening.

A huge database on the environmental impact of NALCO PermaTreat PC191 on avian and mammalian toxicity, bioaccumulation and biodegradation and river die-away tests reveal the non-hazardous non-toxic nature of the product making it environmentally acceptable.

NALCO Chemicals has been a global leader as manufacturer and RO antiscalant supplier for over three decades and the efficacy of NALCO PC 191 allows engineers to design RO systems that can work at highest recovery rates, overtaking competitors because of benefits like:

  • Improved cost effectiveness
  • Less feed-water requirement
  • Less concentrates for disposal
  • Less dosing chemical required
  • Better environmental acceptance of concentrate discharge

Worried about scaling in Reverse Osmosis System and low productivity issues? The perfect solution to your problem is here!!!

Scaling can be defined as the deposition of particles on a membrane that leads to the plugging of the membrane. RO membranes and the flow passages within the membrane elements are susceptible to the formation of scales due to the precipitation of sparingly soluble salts, such as strontium sulfate, barium sulfate, calcium carbonate, and calcium sulfate. Generally scaling occurs on RO membranes when the saturation limit is crossed by the concentration of the scale-forming substances thereby producing added solids within the RO feed water. These substances are hard to remove owing to their low nature of solubility. Scaling alleviates the efficacy of the membranes in removing the solids concentration and leads to more frequent cleanings.

RO antiscalants or antifoulants manifests as special chemical formulations that when administered to the membrane system tend to enhance the solubility of sparingly soluble salts such as BaSO4, CaSO4, SrSO4, CaCO3, and CaF which are the most common scales of concern. In order to run the reverse osmosis system efficiently and in a well organized manner, these antiscalants are to be used as an essential component in the operation of the system.

Hypersperse MDC220 and Hypersperse MDC150 serves as Antiscalants to be used in Reverse Osmosis Systems. They both serve as highly effective liquid antiscalants that has been specially formulated for the controlling of scale precipitates and to help in the reduction of particulate fouling within membrane separation systems.

Using Hypersperse MDC220 and Hypersperse MDC150 as potent antiscalants account for longer run times and extended element life resulting in reduced operating and capital costs. For maximum efficacy, these products should be administered prior to the static mixer or cartridge filter housing. Years of use of these products in industrial applications show incomparable results in membrane separation processes including reverse osmosis (RO), ultrafiltration (UF) and nanofiltration (NF) applications.

Various types of Antiscalants for Reverse Osmosis Systems can be found in the ChemEqual directory which is the largest online directory for chemicals supplier all over the world wherein buyers can have a direct access to all the products and their equivalent brands along with having the convenience of sending direct enquiry to suppliers.
